We have a number of staff working at Wychall Lane Surgery who are employed by Bournville and Northfield Primary Care Network (PCN), including First Contact Practitioners (FCPs). Their skills are shared by the GP practices in our PCN.

 

FCPs are advanced physiotherapists highly trained and regulated healthcare professionals who serve as the first point of contact for patients experiencing musculoskeletal (MSK) issues. They are expert physiotherapists with advanced skills in managing conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and joint problems. You can see an FCP directly without needing to see your GP first, making it quicker and easier to access the care you need.

 

FCPs can:

– Conduct thorough assessments and provide accurate diagnoses

– Offer expert advice and personalized plans to help you manage your condition effectively

– Arrange further investigations, such as scans or tests, if required

– Facilitate referrals to specialist services when necessary
