Wychall Lane Surgery

The surgery has recently installed a new computer program which allows GPs to send personalised healthcare related text messages to patients.

The program, ‘accuRx. Chain SMS’, allows your doctor to send healthcare related text messages directly to your mobile. This might be to send you advice about a health condition following a recent consultation, advice about recent test results or a reminder to book an appointment, for example.

Until now, we have only been able to send standardised messages to groups of patients reminding them to book appointments, or to individual patients regarding whether test results were normal or not. These text messages could not be recorded in the electronic medical notes. Now a doctor can send a personalised message to a specific patient, and this message is recorded in the medical notes.

Please contact Reception on the number below if you need to update us with a new mobile number, or if you wish to opt out of this service.
